Monthly Programs


September's Meeting will be held the third Monday. October through May, meetings are held the second Monday of the month at Galilee Episcopal Church, 40th and Pacific Ave., Virginia Beach at 7:00 p.m. A brief businesss meeting preceeds the speaker and refreshments follow. The public is invited to join these interesting and informative presentations.


September 15th


Reese Lukei Raptor Specialist with the William and Mary Center for Conservation will update us on the status of raptors in the Tidewater area and he will surely touch on the famous pair of Eagles at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens.


Oct 13th

Kathryn Owens the Deputy Refugee Manager at Back Bay NWR will get us up to date with what is going on at the refuge.


November 10th

Shannon Ehlers ,the owl bander from Coastal Virginia Wildlife Organization, will give us a overview of the present owl banding season on the Eastern Shore and how it compares to past seasons. athryn Owens the Deputy Refugee Manager at Back Bay NWR will get us up to date with what is going on at the refuge.

 

December 8: Christmas Party

Arrive at 6 pm for good food and fellowship with Audubon members and families. The club will provide the entree and drinks. Members are asked to bring a side dish. Sign up at meetings or call Pat Ward at 757-377-8463 if attending.

Jan 12th

Our own Peter Doherty will fill us in on his numerous birding projects. From the coast of New England to right here in First Landing State Park.


Feb 9th


Debra Ellers and Dale Grooms from the Western Water Sheds Program will talk about the impact of grazing right on the public lands of the west and its effect on the birds and wildlife of the area. Also our own Peter Doherty will fill us in on his numerous birding projects. From the coast of New England to right here in First Landing State Park.


Mar 9th

Mary Elfner the Coordinator of Virginia's Important Birding Areas will update us as to the status this important Audubon program.

Our own Roland Bagley will amaze you with the history and facts about one of North Americas most misunderstood birds, the Rock Pigeon.

Mr. Ronn Maratea, a professional photographer, will share his wonderful bird and wildlife photos with us and give us the background and details of his pictures.
